Brela is a small town in Dalmatia, on the western end of Makarska Riviera. It is about 45 kilometers far away from Split, and about 15 from Makarska. Brela is also a district with 2 parts, Gornja (upper) Brela and Donja (lower) Brela.

Narrowed between Biokovo and the sea, extended along one of the most beautiful beaches at the Adriatic, Brela attracts a lot of foreign guests, occupying all beds available in its accommodations.

Actually, Brela is the place with, probably, the best offer of private accommodations at the Adriatic. Most of these apartments are in beautiful, imposing villas located on the hills of Biokovo, about ten meters above sea level, and hidden in the shadow of centennial pines. Most of the apartments in Brela belong to the highest category, graded with three stars.

Paradise for pedestrians

Contrary to the neighboring Baška Voda, where there are not enough sidewalks for pedestrians nor the traffic is forbidden in the center – at least during the season, Brela can be pronounced, without hesitation, as a paradise for pedestrians. The promenade, along the beautiful beach in the shadow of centennial pines, leads to the downtown where the traffic, in general, is forbidden, then comes another beach extended to Baška Voda. The slow walk fans may enjoy in their recreation for hours. And when they get tired, they can sit in one of numerous cafes with a beautiful view on the sea. Sport and recreation is on very good level in Brela, so a tourist could enjoy all benefits of it. Just some of them are sailing, surfing, diving and many other sports.

We should not forget Gornja Brela, the old town on the hill, where we can still sea the way of living as it was before the arrival of tourism.
Many excursions are on the offer of Brela, like tours to Split and the old core of the town, to Hvar, Dubrovnik, Medjugorje and some other.
Some of the sights which should be seen are numerous small churches and chapels, but don’t miss to see natural phenomenon The stone of Brela, which is something like a trade mark of Brela.
